Hunting is hunting is hunting.

There is no difference in the action between a man and a woman to harvest an animal. The animal could care less if what’s stalking them is a male, female or a bigfoot (male or female).

Hey ladies – and gentleman – and bigfoot alike, welcome to my site where I talk about hunting from a woman’s point of view. This isn’t a site where I sit on my soapbox about women and same rights and all that. I just want to tell stories from my point of view how maybe I want to pet the little critter walking behind me and how hard it is to basically shed half your many layers of clothes just to go to the bathroom.

I am, by no means, a ‘wo, be easy on me because I’m a girl’ type. I am the opposite of that and I hate that I’m even mentioning the gender thing at all, but in reality, it is the reason I have started this.

I listen to podcasts and watch hunting videos and it always gets me pumped when it’s a woman out there ranging a bull elk or talking about range management and herd control. I love that women have become a part of it all and I hope that more women get in to hunting and providing for their families in this way.

I get frustrated when I listen to some podcasts with very intelligent, strong women as guests and all the host wants to ask them is ‘don’t guys bother you when you are out hunting alone?’ Or ‘do you wear the hunter pink instead of the hunter orange?’ I am truly offended by the change in regulations to include hunter pink. Are you kidding me? I don’t mind if anyone wants to wear pink, and maybe some men out there are choosing that option, but to change the regulations to accommodate a fashion and gender statement is awful. God knows there are plenty of hunting clothes out there slathered in pink already.

In short, and not to get too distracted too early, I am a new hunter but I’ve loved the outdoors since I was a baby. I am excited to be in the hunting world and I want to learn all I can. I want to have a place to chat about experiences, share advice and tips, recipes and rants. I hope you join me in this silly journey!
